Digabe-Donsson was founded more than 40 years ago in Santafe de Bogota. The company's founder, German Betancourt Castano, an enterprising visionary, began in a small store distributing the brands that were popular at that time.
Due to the positive response received from customers, subsidiaries were opened in Medellin, Barranquilla and Cartagena. These were vital business centers, offering support to the industry in different regions of the country, distributing a variety of brands of filters manufactured both nationally and internationally.
In 1990, Donsson Industries was formed and, under the leadership of German R. Betancourt Gutierrez, an Industrial Engineer, who studied abroad and specialized in the handling of polymer resins, the technology required to compete with other industry leaders was developed. This allowed us to compete with importers offering other well-known brands.
A large initiative to protect and prolong motor life span by implementing high quality control standards was undertaken. Our main objective was, and is, to satisfy the needs of our customers.
In the year 2000, after participating in the International Fair in Bogota, Donsson Industries, began exporting its filters to Ecuador, where presently, our brand is well known. We have recently begun exporting to North America, where our filters have been received with positive results.
In the first half of 2003, we began the process of obtaining the Quality Management Systems Certification under the ISO9000 2000 standards. Once complete, this certification will allow us to penetrate additional markets in South America and worldwide.
The past 40 years have allowed Donsson Industries to enter the new millennium as a solid business enterprise, with experience and with on-going efforts to create innovative technologies. Our business ethics and philosophy instilled throughout the entire organization, have helped us to obtain our goal of providing a better quality of life for employees, and contribute to the growth and development of the country.
